We placed 4th overall in this years Boda Getta BBQ competition with our Ribs grabbing the 3rd place finish. So far our average finish is 2nd for this competition. We won this competition last year and knew we needed to bring our a game because there were better teams we had to compete against this year and the fact that everyone was gunning for us. This year the weather was perfect, a far cry from the tornadoes and lightning storms we dealt with last year. We had a lot of fun and will evaluate and discuss our finish probably until next year but we will be back. We want to thank everyone that stopped by and bought a shirt, donated to our team and hung out with us and got to taste some championship BBQ both Friday night and Saturday.
On Friday we had butt, brisket, ribs and chicken. We started smoking at 5:30am and had everything ready including coleslaw, brownies, cookies and baked beans. We had one of the largest, if not the largest, crowds at the competition on Friday night.
Saturday was competition day and we had our game faces on. That being said our game faces are much less stern than some. We had a great time and pulled out some solid BBQ ribs and chicken.
